Kary Kramer is festival princess.
Kary Camille Kramer of Elkins, WV has been appointed Princess for the 74th Mountain State Forest Festival by William Hartman. Kary is the daughter of Harry and Denise Kramer of Elkins, WV. She is the granddaughter of Harry and Helen Kramer of Beverly and Vernon and Virginia Burky of Mill Creek. She has two sisters, Karly Kramer and Kadra Casseday.
Kary is a 2009 graduate of Elkins High School where she was an Honors Graduate, graduated in the top ten percent of her class, was a member of National Honors Society, Spanish National Honors Society and International Thespian Society. She was a four year member of the Volleyball team and two year member of the Tennis team. Kary participated in Class Council, Student Council, Fellowship of Christian Athletes and Theatre Department. Additionally, she organized numerous Red Cross blood drives and was a participant in the Old Brick Playhouse Apprentice Program.
Kary attends West Virginia Wesleyan College where she majors in Christian Education and Church Leadership with a minor in Theatre. She is a recipient of the Promise Scholarship, Swiss Benevolent Society Scholarship, Presidential Scholarship, WVWC Legacy Scholarship and the Performing Arts Scholarship. Kary has been named to the Dean’s List and was a Freshman Homecoming Attendant. Also a member of Zeta Tau Alpha Sorority, she volunteers at the Upshur Parish House.
A member of First United Methodist Church of Elkins, where she teaches first grade Sunday School classes, Kary enjoys summer mission works in North Carolina and East Belfast, Northern Ireland. A member of 4-H, she earned a 4-H Charting Pin. Additionally, she has studied piano at Gale Poe’s Music Studio, studied voice under Mary T. Thacker and is employed at Dairy Queen. Kary enjoys babysitting in her spare time and hopes to work with children in a church preschool upon graduation from WVWC.
